Technical Mold Release

WS 1844 S is a technical ceramic coating with a dry-to-touch film that provides excellent release properties in the glass, extrusion, and foundry industries, withstanding temperatures of up to 1,200ºC.

Characteristics

  • Ceramic coating, oil-free.
  • It greatly reduces friction between metals.
  • Withstands temperatures up to 1200ºC.
  • Excellent thermal conductivity qualities.

Advantages

  • Better properties and durability than graphite, PTFE or MoS2.
  • Resists attack by molten liquid metals (iron, aluminum, etc.).
  • Resists attack by non-metallic liquids (silicon, boron, glass, etc.).
  • Non-toxic, non-reactive.

Applications

  • GLASS INDUSTRY: Minimizes surface defects, improves demolding, extends mold life, and reduces cleaning time.
  • EXTRUSION: Protects tools during hot aluminum extrusion, facilitating assembly and disassembly. Inhibits corrosion and chemical attack on treated surfaces.
  • FOUNDRY: avoids tinning on surfaces.
  • FORGINGS: excellent pretreatment of tools for their protection during start-up.
  • MECHANICS: assembly of screws and pressure adjustments avoiding seizure.
  • PLASTICS AND RUBBERS: Excellent benefits, increasing production speed and improving part demolding, as well as preventing plastic sticking during heat-sealing processes.
